The old railway line from Levanto to Framura (opposite direction of the Cinque Terre) has been transformed into a path reserved for pedestrians and bicycles. The path, all paved and flat, is accessible all day, even at night, and is about 5.5 km long.
Most of the route goes through tunnels, but between one tunnel and another there are splendid panoramic points with small beaches and terraces from which to admire the sea and the coast.
About halfway through the route is Bonassola, a very quiet village with a large sandy beach. Framura, at the end of the route, instead has a pebbly beach. In both places, you can stop to enjoy an aperitif or eat.
The route is also highly appreciated by "Wave Watchers, " enthusiasts of the rough seas along the coast.
If you don't want to return to Levanto on foot, you can take the train back, either from Framura or from Bonassola.
